A meeting place for doctors-cum-artists. "The Artist Corner"
OPEN STAGE, ART GALLERY AND CHESS
At the 2010 Wonca Europe Conference in Málaga, you will be able to express yourself. And not only by attending a workshop, reading a paper or taking part in a sessions.
We also want the conference hall to serve as a venue for communication through artistic creativity. Through our own creations.
For this reason we propose that you join in at either or both of the two spaces that will occupy common areas at the Conference: the Open Stage and the Gallery.
The Open Stage will be a small stage with a simple sound system. During coffee breaks and at other times outside the scientific schedule of the conference you will have the chance to read a story you have written, to sing, to recite a poem, to bring us the sounds of your home playing some musical instrument (with the exception of those who want to play the piano, the other participants must bring their own musical instruments with them) or present a performance that can be as crazy as you like. There is no need to mention medicine directly. We’re not worried about the technical quality either. What we are hoping for is to see and hear things expressed that matter in another way. Show us your artistic side.
The Gallery will be a room set aside in the conference hall where the artistic and literary works you send us will be exhibited. Photographs, paintings, ceramics, craftwork and sculptures will be welcome, and also your own books unrelated to medicine. We offer no prizes, and the works will not be on sale. All we want is to learn more about ourselves through another language.
Apart from this, chess fans will find several boards for use during their free time. On Thursday 7 October, if there are more than 20 entries, a semi-blitz chess tournament will be held with 10 minutes per player.
To take part you must be registered at the Conference. If you want to be on the Open Stage, you must send a synopsis of your proposal, along with your personal particulars and those of the other participants (proposals may be individual or collective) before 15 September.
If you want to exhibit in the Gallery, send us your personal particulars and a photo illustrating the nature of your work (type, size), also before 15 September.
If you want to play in the chess tournament, let us know before 15 September.
The organising committee will select and distribute time slots and spaces depending on the needs of the organisation and the communicative value of the proposals.
If we want our work to be all-encompassing, then our knowledge should be so too.

Golf Tournament
The "ilustre Colegio Oficial de Médicos de Málaga" has the pleasure to inviting all members and accompanying persons from the 16th Wonca Europe Conference and the 20th SAMFyC Conference, to participate on its golf tournament.

Speakers corner
We can´t foresee everything that is going to happen at the congress. Many of our colleagues certainly have things to say that we had not planned for. This is why, during the period of the congress, we will set aside a small room where - according to the regulations to be issued beforehand - every attendee will be able to freely express their points of view on their subject of interest.
